About The Event

Description:

As ultrasonic technology evolves, dental hygiene educators play a critical role in preparing students to deliver efficient, effective, and ergonomic care. This course examines the limitations of traditional ultrasonic inserts and explores how advancements in design impact clinical outcomes, access, and operator health. Educators will gain strategies for integrating updated instrumentation concepts into preclinical and clinical instruction, helping students build strong fundamentals in biofilm and calculus removal while minimizing fatigue and technique errors.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain how ultrasonic insert wear affects student performance, scaling efficiency, and patient outcomes

  2. Compare traditional and newer insert designs and their implications for teaching access, adaptation, and biofilm removal

  3. Integrate ergonomic principles into ultrasonic instrumentation instruction to support student longevity and reduce fatigue
