Description: Educating hygienists in professional in-office assessment, maintenance, and home-care recommendations is key to prevention of peri-implant complications. For long-term implant success clinicians need to detect early signs of implant complications to provide early intervention. Prepare dental hygienists to implement professional in-office maintenance treatment and recommend preventative home-care regimens for patients. This course will follow Susan’s new textbook: Peri-Implant Therapy for the Dental Hygienist: 2nd Edition.
Objectives:
Outline current research for prevention of peri-implant disease
Understand early intervention guidelines to prevent implant complications
Be able to educate on researched professional in-office maintenance and disease treatment.
